Which road north you take matters
Burleson sits on the Johnson and Tarrant county line, and almost every trip we plan here opens with the same question. Which way north? You have two good answers, and they drop you in different parts of Fort Worth.
- I-35W runs straight up the east side of town into downtown and on toward the Stockyards. It is the direct line for Sundance Square and anything on the north side. It is also the road that stacks up on a Friday evening and every time there is construction, which is most of the time.
- The Chisholm Trail Parkway, the toll road on the west side, runs past the TCU area and Clearfork into the west side of downtown. Steadier, usually, and the better bet for the Cultural District, Dickies Arena, West 7th or a Clearfork dinner.
Your driver picks the road on the night, watching live traffic. What you control is where your group starts. A pickup in Old Town or on the east side is closer to I-35W. The newer neighborhoods on the west side are minutes from the parkway. Send us every pickup address when you ask for a quote and we will tell you honestly how the route changes your timing.
As your Burleson party bus company, we plan most of these nights at five hours. Twenty-five to forty minutes each way, plus about three hours for dinner and wherever you are going after.
Where Burleson groups go from Old Town

Old Town Burleson is where a lot of evenings start. The restaurants and patios around the historic downtown make it an easy place to meet, eat and board without anybody circling a neighborhood looking for a house number. Russell Farm Art Center and Bartlett Park cover the daytime side of things: family parties, photos, community events that occasionally turn into a night out.
From there, these are the ranges on an ordinary evening.
| Destination | Typical drive | Best road | Vehicle that fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sundance Square, downtown Fort Worth | 25-35 min | I-35W | 20-passenger party bus |
| Stockyards and Billy Bob's Texas | 30-45 min | I-35W | 26-passenger party bus |
| Clearfork, West 7th, Dickies Arena | 25-35 min | Chisholm Trail Parkway | 14 to 26-passenger vehicle |
| AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field | 35-50 min | I-35W and I-20 | 30 to 36-passenger bus |
| Uptown or Deep Ellum, Dallas | 45-65 min | I-35W then I-30 or I-20 | 20 to 26-passenger bus |
| Glen Rose, Fossil Rim, Dinosaur Valley | 45-60 min south | US-67 | Coach for school or family groups |
Fort Worth is the everyday answer, and our Fort Worth page covers where a bus can actually drop in each district. If you are headed to the rodeo or a Dickies Arena show, add time for event traffic and set your return pickup thirty minutes after the last song rather than at the last song.
Friday is the night nobody asks for
Almost everyone wants the same two nights, and they do not want them equally. Across our North Texas inquiry data, roughly 63% of requests are for a Saturday and only about 19% for a Friday. Nearly everything else in the week barely registers.
That gap is a genuine opportunity for you. A Friday birthday or girls' night in Fort Worth is exactly as good as a Saturday one, and it is a date far fewer people are competing for. The trade-off is traffic: Friday is when I-35W is heaviest northbound, so a Friday plan starts fifteen minutes earlier and leans on the Chisholm Trail Parkway wherever your destination allows it.
Lead times here are short for most trips, which is fine until it is not. A few weeks is plenty for a Friday in February. It is a real gamble for a Saturday in April or December, or any fall football weekend, when the whole region is chasing the same vehicles. The Booking Window Planner, right in the middle of this page, tells you how far ahead your particular date deserves.
If your group has any flex at all, send us two dates. Seeing a Friday and a Saturday side by side usually makes the decision for you before we have to.

Prom season with two high schools in town
Burleson ISD has two high schools, Burleson High and Burleson Centennial, and prom season puts both of them on the same handful of spring Saturdays as every other school in Johnson and Tarrant counties. Across our Texas inquiry data, about 26% of prom and homecoming requests are for May, on top of the April rush that everybody already knows about.
Prom venues for Burleson schools are often in Fort Worth or at event halls across the area, so you are looking at a real drive in formalwear. Four things make that night work:
- One photo location. Old Town, Bartlett Park, or somebody's backyard. Pickups spread across both attendance zones eat your clock before the night starts.
- Size for the dresses. Eighteen students in full gowns are comfortable in a 24-passenger bus and cramped in a 20.
- A parent signs and stays reachable. Students under 18 cannot sign, and that parent is our contact all evening.
- Dry, no exceptions. No alcohol on any trip carrying minors, and your driver enforces it so you are not the one having that argument.
Our prom party bus guide has the full parent checklist. Fall brings the mirror image with homecoming, usually on shorter notice and with smaller groups, which makes it easier to place late.

Sizing a bus for a Burleson group

Most groups here land right in the middle. Across our North Texas inquiry data, about 47% of requests are for 11 to 20 passengers. That is the band where a 20-passenger party bus fits naturally and where everyone can still meet at one house without it becoming a logistics project.
How that plays out by occasion:
- Anniversary or retirement dinner, 8 to 14 guests: a 14-passenger stretch limousine from Old Town to Clearfork or Sundance Square.
- Birthday or girls' night, 12 to 20: a 20-passenger party bus, loaded at one house.
- Combined prom group or a big birthday, 21 to 30: a 26 or 30-passenger party bus.
- Church, team or company outing, 30 and up: a coach. Our church event transportation page covers how those trips get planned.
Burleson neighborhoods run from older streets near Old Town to newer subdivisions with curving lanes and cul-de-sacs on the edges. A 20 to 30-passenger bus handles nearly all of them. If your street is a tight circle or lined with parked cars, we will suggest loading at the nearest corner instead. Send the address and we check it before your night, not on it.

Two Burleson nights, and how to ask
Friday girls' night, 16 friends, five hours
- 6:00 p.m. Pickup at one house on the west side.
- 6:30 p.m. Up the Chisholm Trail Parkway to dinner at Clearfork.
- 8:30 p.m. West 7th for drinks and dancing.
- 10:30 p.m. Reboard, home by 11:00.
Saturday Stockyards birthday, 24 riders, five and a half hours
- 5:30 p.m. Meet in Old Town, where everyone parks.
- 6:15 p.m. I-35W north to the Stockyards for dinner.
- 8:30 p.m. Billy Bob's Texas.
- 11:00 p.m. Back to Old Town.
When your plan is ready, send the date and a backup, your headcount, the pickup address, your stops and an end time. The Quote Request Builder packages all of it into one message. About 24% of North Texas requests arrive two to four weeks out, which works fine for a quiet date and not at all for a busy one, so send it as soon as you know.
We reply with vehicle options and one written total. Adult groups where every rider is 21 or over may bring drinks under the vehicle's terms. Student and family rides are dry. Friends in Mansfield and Cleburne use the same two roads north, and our girls' night out page has more ideas for that first itinerary.
