Quick answer

Should a group of 22 to 25 rent one 26-passenger party bus or two smaller vehicles?

One bus, almost every time. A single 26 keeps your group together, needs one driver and one schedule, and usually divides into a smaller share per person than two 14-passenger vehicles. Groups this large are rare for bachelor weekends: only 8% of bachelor party requests across the wider network we work with are for 21 to 30 riders. Ask early, because fewer vehicles fit you.

Past the big-van line, into a real bus

At twenty-six seats you have left van territory behind. There is an aisle you can walk down without turning sideways, a ceiling most riders stand under, and enough bench that a group of twenty-two never has to negotiate who sits where. The kit is what you expect from our mid-size party buses: wraparound leather seating, LED and mood lighting you can set to a color, a loud and clean sound system over Bluetooth, a wet bar with ice coolers, dark tinted windows, and climate control front to back. Floor plans differ bus to bus, so we send current photos of the one we would assign before you commit to anything.

Who fills it? Groups of twenty to twenty-five who want to stay together. Usually that means:

  • A joint bachelor and bachelorette night, where two parties of eleven or twelve merge.
  • A destination weekend where friends fly into DFW or Love Field and need one ride for the main Saturday.
  • Alumni and fraternity reunions built around a football weekend.
  • A milestone birthday with couples, which doubles a guest list before you finish the invite text.

Your neighbors are close on either side: the 24-passenger party bus if you are certain you stay under twenty-two, and the 28-passenger once coolers and winter coats join the plan.

A group of friends out together celebrating a bachelor party at night

Bachelor groups are usually small. Across the wider network we work with, 37% of bachelor party requests are for ten riders or fewer, and only 8% reach twenty-one to thirty. So if you are organizing for twenty-four, the standard advice everybody repeats online, grab a Sprinter, was not written for you. Fewer vehicles fit your group, which changes how early you should be asking.

What large groups share with small ones is how far ahead they plan. Roughly two thirds of those bachelor requests arrive more than a month out, and three in ten come in at least three months ahead. These are trips with flights and hotel blocks, so transportation gets discussed early. The week looks different too: better than a quarter name a Friday, well above the norm, because a weekend trip has two nights to fill.

Which gives you one easy move. If your weekend has a Friday and a Saturday, ask about both at once. A Friday is generally easier to place than a Saturday, and one conversation covers the pair. Our pages on Dallas bachelor party transportation and bachelorette party buses cover venues and stops. This page is about getting the vehicle right.

One 26 or two 14s, honestly compared

This is the question that defines the size, so look at how the two plans actually differ.

One 26-passenger party busTwo 14-passenger Sprinter-style buses
What the night feels likeEveryone in one room, one playlist, one toastTwo separate parties that meet at each stop
Hourly minimumsOne vehicle's minimumTwo minimums, two gratuities
Timing riskOne arrivalThe second van catches the light the first one made
Standing roomYes, open floorLimited, mostly seated
Tight streets and garagesNeeds a planned curbGoes almost anywhere
When it winsNights out, shared celebrations, a fixed routeGroups splitting mid-day, or pickups in two distant suburbs

On money: you are quoted per vehicle, per hour, against a minimum. Two vehicles means paying two of everything. Unless your group genuinely needs to be in two places at once, one larger bus split twenty-four ways is the lower share per head. Drop your all-in total and your headcount into the Cost Split Calculator below and you will have a number to post in the group chat inside a minute. If you do need to split up for part of the day, a 14-passenger party bus for the afternoon activity plus the 26 at night is a common hybrid.

Benches run both walls and the aisle stays clear, which is where everybody ends up standing.

Rated capacity is twenty-six. What is comfortable depends entirely on your trip:

  • Night out, phones and wallets: 23 to 26.
  • Day trip with coolers, hats, a change of shoes: 21 to 24.
  • Hotel to dinner in winter coats: 22 to 24, and the coats end up piled on a seat.
  • Airport arrival with roller bags: wrong vehicle. Bags ride in the cabin, and twenty suitcases swallow half your floor. A coach with luggage bays, like the 26-passenger coach bus, handles arrivals. Save the party bus for the night.

Combined bachelor and bachelorette groups have one recurring habit: each side counts its own people and nobody adds the two lists together until the week of the trip. Get one list, in one document, with a name on every line. Then add two, because somebody always surfaces. If that pushes you to twenty-seven, you need the next size, since we will not load past the rating for anyone. For a second opinion, run it through the Vehicle Size Matcher.

Two weekends this bus handles well

Saturday in Fort Worth: Stockyards by day, Dallas by night

  1. 11:30 a.m. Pickup at your group's hotel downtown or in Uptown.
  2. 12:30 p.m. Into the Fort Worth Stockyards via I-30. Buses drop at the edge of the district, since Exchange Avenue itself is thick with foot traffic.
  3. 4:30 p.m. Reboard. The ride east is your recovery hour: cold drinks for the 21-and-over crowd, air conditioning, a quieter playlist.
  4. 5:30 p.m. Back at the hotel to change. Some groups end the booking here and start a second one at 8:00. Others keep the bus straight through.

Friday arrival night: Uptown into Deep Ellum

  1. 7:30 p.m. Hotel pickup once the last flight lands.
  2. 8:00 p.m. Group dinner in Uptown or along Knox-Henderson. Book that table weeks ahead, because few kitchens seat twenty-four on a walk-in.
  3. 10:15 p.m. Deep Ellum for live music. Agree on a pickup corner and a hard reboard time before anyone steps off.
  4. 1:00 a.m. One stop, everybody home.

Season matters for the first plan. Across the wider network we work with, 37% of bachelor party requests are for summer dates, and a July afternoon in the Stockyards is punishing. Build in shade and water. Map your own version in the Event Timeline Builder.

Bachelor party · Summer

Across our historical group-transportation inquiry data, 37% of bachelor party inquiries with a known event date were scheduled in summer, 14 percentage points above the network-wide overall share of 23%.

Hotel canopies and the 1 a.m. pickup

Out-of-town groups nearly always start at a hotel, and hotel entrances are where mid-size buses meet trouble. Many covered entries downtown and in Uptown are too low or too tight for one. The fix is easy: we set a street-side loading point within a short walk, and you tell your group the cross street rather than just the hotel name.

Entertainment districts run on their own rhythm. In Deep Ellum and on McKinney Avenue your driver cannot idle at a bar door. The bus waits a few blocks out and comes back when you call, which takes five to ten minutes on a busy night. Two habits make that painless:

  • Give the driver's number to two people, not one. Phones die at the worst moment.
  • Set your reboard time before anyone gets off, and treat it like a flight. The clock keeps running while twenty-four people look for the groom.

You board by a front stairwell with a handrail. Coolers go on the floor by the bar area, cans and plastic only, no glass. Drinks are for riders 21 and up and always subject to the vehicle's terms.

Booking a whole weekend in one go

Send us the dates for the whole weekend, where your group is staying, a realistic headcount and any fixed reservations: a dinner time, a tee time, a game. We will come back with a vehicle, suggested hours for each outing and a total per day, so you can decide what is worth chartering and what is a five-minute walk.

Far fewer vehicles seat twenty-four than seat twelve, so earlier is better for spring and summer Saturdays. If your list is still weeks from firm, ask anyway and give us the range. The Booking Window Planner lays out what to decide when, and our bachelorette party bus guide has stop-by-stop ideas if the planning landed on you by default.

One organizer signs the agreement and pays the deposit. Collect the shares from your group first. Getting twenty-four people to pay before the weekend is far easier than chasing them after it.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we get asked most. Do not see yours? Call or start a chat.

In most cases the single bus is the lower total, because every vehicle carries its own hourly minimum and its own gratuity. Two vehicles only make sense when your group must split up for part of the day, or when pickups sit in distant suburbs.

Plan on twenty-three to twenty-six for a light night out, and twenty-one to twenty-four once coolers, coats or day bags come aboard. The rating of twenty-six is a firm limit, so a list of twenty-seven means moving up to the 28.

We would steer you away from it for arrivals with luggage. Party buses have no cargo bays, so suitcases take seats and floor space. A coach bus with luggage storage suits the airport run, and the party bus earns its keep at night.

It is usually written as two separate trips, each with its own hours, but you can arrange both in one conversation. Across the wider network we work with, better than a quarter of bachelor party requests name a Friday, so two-night requests are routine here.

Earlier than most. Roughly two thirds of bachelor party requests across the wider network arrive more than a month before the event, and three in ten at least three months ahead. With flights involved, the ride gets planned alongside the hotel.

Yes. A Dallas to Stockyards round trip is one of the most common day plans at this size. Allow about an hour each way on a Saturday, and remember to count that drive time when you estimate your rental hours.

Yes, if the route supports it. A typical plan collects both groups, shares dinner and the first stop, then drops one group before continuing. List every drop in the itinerary so your hours come back quoted correctly.

Tell the driver immediately so they can pull over somewhere safe. Cleaning fees for spills and sickness are spelled out in the rental agreement. Pacing drinks, eating a real dinner first and keeping water aboard prevents most of it.
