The vehicles come in three families. Party buses are the social option, with perimeter seating, lighting and sound, from small groups up to 48 riders. Stretch limousines are the arrival somebody photographs. Coach buses are forward-facing seats and luggage bays, built for shuttles and highway miles.

In our own inquiry data, about 48% of groups are 11 to 20 riders. That is the biggest band by a wide margin, and it is why planners here keep bringing up the 20-passenger party bus. It sits right in the middle of what people ask for. Groups nudging past twenty usually end up weighing it against the 30-passenger party bus.

Vehicle type is even more lopsided. Roughly 89% of the people who name a vehicle name a party bus. The calendar is just as narrow: eight in ten dated requests are for a Friday or a Saturday. That one pattern explains most of the scramble you hear about weekend dates.

Be clear on what these numbers are. They are questions people sent us, not bookings, not prices, not what is open on your date. The data methodology page shows how each figure was counted and where it stops being useful.

A transportation website can say anything it likes about itself. We built this one so the parts that matter are checkable in about five minutes.

The polls deserve a word of their own. They are opinion, collected one vote per visitor, and we never fold them into the inquiry data. History on one side, opinion on the other, always labeled.

When you size up any company in this business, ours included, ask for three things: current photos of the vehicle class on your quote, a written agreement before money moves, and the name of someone you can reach on the day. Hesitation on any of the three tells you plenty.

The steps above give you the short version. This is the longer one, including where things actually slow down.

Because the right size fits your real headcount, not your hopeful one. A half-empty 40-passenger bus feels flat. It costs more than you needed to spend, and it fights for room in the valet lanes around Deep Ellum and the Bishop Arts District. A packed one is worse. Our rule of thumb is simple: confirmed riders, plus two to four seats of breathing room, and stop there.

The data agrees. Only about 20% of the groups in our inquiry records are ten riders or fewer, and those small groups are exactly the ones who get offered far more vehicle than they need. If that sounds like you, a stretch limo or a compact party bus will feel right. Genuinely big groups do well on the largest party buses or a coach, and sometimes on two mid-size vehicles so pickups in two suburbs can run at the same time.

There is no single pattern to when people reach out. In our own inquiry data, about 52% of requests arrive inside 30 days of the event and the rest come earlier, with roughly one in seven landing in the final week. Planning late puts you in very good company, and we will work with whatever is open.

What the calendar does show you is where the pressure sits. Saturdays take the largest share of dated requests by far. Fall and winter carry most of the year, and December on its own is about 21% of everything we are asked about. A Saturday in December or October is a night plenty of other groups want. Fix that date and call the same week.

If your date can move at all, a Friday, a Sunday or a weeknight opens up more of the fleet. Organizers planning wedding transportation or corporate events usually start months out, because other vendors hang off the schedule. For a casual birthday party bus, a few weeks is normal. Either way, the first conversation costs you nothing and gives you real options to react to.
